An amazing four days experience that will take you to some of the natural wonders of a beautiful island, unknown by most of usual the beach holiday tourists.

You will visit spectacular natural attractions, monuments, historic mining areas, the wildest beaches and isolated areas of difficult access that surprise and excite anyone who decides to take this unusual journey.

Product Description

DAY 1

The day will begin visiting SU NURAXI, one of the most important of the more than 7000 nuraghi, built between the Middle Bronze Age and the Bronze Age and the to the wonderful CASA ZAPATA.

After a lunch break we will continue to the Giara natural Park, a vast basalt and limestone plateau of wild and untouched beauty inhabited by rare animals such”the wild Giara horses” whose origin is shrouded in mystery. We will continue our tour to the area Arburese. Traditional dinner and overnight.

DAY 2

After breakfast we drive to the Montevecchio historic mines part of the Geological and Mining Park of Sardinia, a UNESCO “World Heritage site”. It acquired additional fame after being set of successful Italian movies and because it is inserted in a lovely natural, marine and mountain frame of rare beauty with sand dunes, wild deer, Mediterranean scrub and undergrowth from various botanical species.

For lunch we will taste delicious local specialties at a local farm, with appetizers, soups, cheese ravioli, lamb with saffron, roast meat flavoured with Mediterranean herbs, all obtained from local farm produce (vegetarian options available on request).

In the afternoon, our expert local guides will lead us through special trails in an isolated area of great natural beauty: Piscinas beach, along the seashore of the Costa Verde. This is surrounded for some kilometres by very high dunes modelled by the mistral and whom yellow ochre colour is interrupted by bushes and sea lilies. At certain times you can spot deer’s that walk down to the sea, and in June, the sea turtles that lay their eggs.

Return for dinner and overnight. Optional Night Safari by jeep on request.

DAY 3

After breakfast we drive to Buggerru, a village located in the south west coast of Sardinia, also called the “Little Paris”, following the cultural trend at the beginning of the twentieth century with the arrival of the French mining executives …

You can visit the impressive Museum of the Miner, restored while maintaining the old structure with lathes and milling machines still in the original location.

We will then visit some of the local beaches, the un-missable Cala Domestica, St. Nicholas and Capo Pecora, beauties that attract surfers from all over the world and in recent years, also directors and writers who choose it as a set for various commercials …

Traditional miner lunch, outdoors or at a local restaurant.

Then, we will continue with a visit to the Valley of Antas, set in the middle of a beautiful natural amphitheatre, where it stands a Roman temple os Sardus Pater Babai, which is unique in Sardinia.

We will continue with the visit of the stunning Caves of Mannau, among the oldest in the world and have great archaeological and speleological interest.

DAY 4

Breakfast and departure to Cagliari. On the way we will stop in Sanluri, to visit its small but lovely medieval castle, for centuries the residence of the Spanish nobles.

We will continue our journey to Cagliari where you can go shopping , visit the historic center of the city, the so-called “Castle” and the Poetto seaside, ideal place for a walk or have lunch while admiring the beautiful sea and the iconic promontory of the Sella del Diavolo (the Devil’s Saddle). Before transferring to the airport, we will stop in some strategic spots to spot the romantic pink flamingos, which also fell in love with this city and decided not to migrate anymore but to make it their home.
